Parliament News – American Art Agency
American Art Agency, the publishing company, was formed in 1960 by Milton Luros, a comic book artist. From day one, it published high-quality men’s titles that were often referred to as “slicks” at the time. Parliament News was, in fact, the distribution company for the magazines, which was set up by the American Art Agency.
In 1970, the American Art Agency changed its name to American Art Enterprises. Starting around 1972, the company began to splinter, leading to the emergence of other publishers such as Red Lion Publishing and Chelsea Publishing. All of these fell under the same company umbrella and were distributed by Parliament News, which is why we see the “PN” on the front of many different titles from a range of publishers. By 1980, Parliament was the dominant company, producing many different hardcore titles.
