‘They grabbed her – rough like this!’ said Patti, her blue-ink rinse bobbing and weaving around the lounge. ‘And toppled her over this away,’ added Hilda. And with that, poor Jean landed with a heavy plonk on the settee.
‘Great film!’ declared Patti. ‘Super!’ chorused Hilda. ‘More like painful,’ spluttered Jean. She’d missed the show and was catching up now. In style.
‘She fought, of course,’ went on Patti, grabbing a handy leg and trying to make a fight of it. ‘She bit – and scratched and swore – but they had their way with her, said Hilda, turning almost as red as her shocking wig. ‘Say what you like – you always get realism with Uncle Sam Peckinpah.’ And that’s how it all started. A resume of the latest Peckinpah derringdo which had to have a rape in it, didn’t it? A blow by blow description, enacted out until Jean was half-way bereft of her clothes. ‘Now me,’ shouted Patti. ‘Me too,’ Hilda of course. (Hilda never wants to be left out…) And as the sun set on the Fulham ranges, our juicy threesome finished up naked as jay birds.
‘This is all very well,’ admonished Jean. But Peckinpah is better. He at least gets some men into the action. Like, you know The Wild Bunch..: That left the movie buffs quiet. Yeah, too quiet.
