Paint Party
‘Come around for what?’ cried Simone on the phone. ‘Some painting,’ came the reply, clear as a bell. Interspersed with some great giggling. Lena is a champion giggler. Well, Simone may not have fully understood what lay in store for her, but as she was coming into town anyway, there she was about one hour later. At Lena’s pad. And looking for a room all stripped down ready for a paint job.
Not a room, sillo moo,’ giggled Lena some more. ‘Look – I mean these kiddies paints. On us. You’re coming to that fancy-dress thing next week over at Ethel’s aren’t you? Right! Well I found me these paints in a shop this morning. I thought like what a great idea. Go to Ethel’s all painted up. That’s why I called. Why don’t we try ’em out.’
‘Sure would shake them up at Ethel’s, nodded Simone. ‘I can see Gus’ face now.. Okay anything for a laugh’. And Lena giggled. Again. She giggled a lot more as the afternoon went off and the paint – very ticklish – went on. And on. And on. Until they literally emptied the pots on each other.
‘It works,’ they agreed. ‘Yeah,’ said Lena. ‘Now we’ve got to go buy some more. .
