Stormy Weather
It always rains on Sundays. Forget it! When the clock goes back and it’s winter drawers on time, it seems to rain in the cities every other day of the week. And Birmingham can be just as wet as Manchester. Norah had only nipped across the road from her flat to Sarah’s. Couldn’t have taken more than a minute or two — and her brolly got thumped by the storm and she was pretty wet all over. Or just pretty. There must have been more to it when Sarah suggested ‘getting out of those wet things’. And indeed there was. The two friends they’d been to grammar school and college together – were rapidly affected by the storm in the air, the heavy atmosphere and the sudden — electric! — touch of flesh on flesh. Trembling fingers caressing equally trembling arms, legs, thighs … sighs! They’ll remember this afternoon for many a stormy month. The day that the rains came. And not just the rain …
