Description
The Parisiennes
Oh to be in England now that April is there .. Forget it! (Unless ‘it’ is a her…) No, Paris is the place for April, some of May – then quit and get down to the Midi for the summer haze. The English April is too untrustworthy. The French version is almost guaranteed – non-stop days of invigorating Spring sun. A climate made for love. L’amour — that most important of all the intangible reasons why the French girl is so unique among the world’s – and worldly – women. Like our sublime heroines here: the tawny-haired dancer, Claudette, and the exotic creature with the raven tresses, Elodie.
Elodie has a rich apartment on the Left Bank (where else?) and Claudette is a near neighbour and a frequent visitor, before her Paris-at-night duties in the all singin’, all dancin’ Montmartre. She always brings flowers with her ‘c’est traditional! – and the friends pass the afternoon as the spirit moves them. Gossip — of course. Nostalgia – quite often. Plus the odd fashion parade – showing off new clothes, new lines, new lingerie.
One playful kiss — an embrace – and everything leads, inevitably and expectantly, to continued caresses, explorations. Fond out-pourings of their lasting affection for one another… as the Spring sun shines on, the clock ticks, passions rise and friendship — a rare and fully revealed adoration — is sealed yet again. C’est la vie! C’est l’amour!
